In the second night of Stage Four we saw some big upsets coming for teams. Both the Houston Outlaws and Philadelphia Fusion looked back to their old form as other top contenders came up short. Here is the breakdown for the night’s matches.

Philadelphia Fusion Put Boston Uprising Back in Their Place

The Fusion had been one of the top teams in Stage Two. However, in Stage Three the Boston Uprising came out with a perfect 10-0 run. With the changes to meta and the addition of Brigitte, it was not time to see if Boston could hang? Out of the gate they took King’s Row with Mistakes on Hanzo. However, it was in Hanumara that Sado and Hotba came in and showed Boston what they were made of. Their combo play with Carpe put Boston off balance the rest of the match. The two tanks helped Philadelphia push through Lijaing and El Dorado.  It was not just that Fusion’s offense was strong, their defense held Boston back to very few points. Fusion could be the team to beat this Stage.

NYXL Started Shaky Against the Florida Mayhem

The NYXL remain the top team in Overwatch League. The Florida Mayhem are still finding their ground but have become a fan favorite in recent stages. Last night, the match went to NYXL, but highlight from the first two maps show that Florida came ready. Libero on Hanzo was amazing to watch as the NYXL adopted the long range fire with SBB on Widow as well. Meko and Janus played well as the tank duo keeping the Mayhem back. TviQ played some Brigitte hoping to disrupt with the new meta and in the first two maps it was close. The new meta also favored Cwoosh on Reinhardt and some Zarya play. However in the end it was not enough to stop the “cold blooded” NYXL.

Match Score: 3-0 NYXL Win

MVP: Libero

Outlaws Guns Were Blazing Against the London Spitfire

The biggest surprise of the night was the overwhelming victory by the Houston Outlaws against the London Spitfire. Bringing Spree into the line up on Zarya and moving Jake to Hanzo made for an amazing opening match in King’s Row. Spitfire seemed out of their league as they could not put together a solid response to Houston’s rotation on tanks. CoolMatt came in for Horizon and continued the control. Lijiang saw Jake control everything on Pharah. The graviton bombs though were unreal as Spree just cleaned up. Spitfire finally rallied on Gibraltar but it was not enough as Outlaws took the final map seriously to ensure their playoff spot. They pushed map for to a 5-4 victory.

Match Score: 4-0 Houston Wins!

MVP: Spree – UNREAL!!
