Overwatch League opening week is right around the corner. We began this section with a daily breakdown of games for Wednesday night, now we take a look at Thursday’s games which offers some unique matches from the Atlantic Division.

London Spitfire vs. Florida Mayhem

Starting off the night, the London Spitfire take on the Florida Mayhem. This match favors heavily to the Spitfire and their stacked roster. Florida had a tough time in the preseason with their games despite being a solid team in Contenders last year. The players to watch are Fissure and CWoosh in taking roles. Both are solid players who set up their DPS teams nicely. Overall though, It is looking like the Mayhem will have a tough time of it with no subs to being the season. We will have to wait and see how it plays out for them.

Philadelphia Fusion vs. Houston Outlaws

This is a huge match for two reasons. The first is that we did not see Philadelphia in the preseason. The Fusion will be taking the stage for the first time and against the most underrated team in Overwatch League. The Outlaws host a solid roster of top North American players and are truly under estimated with teams like Seoul and Dallas taking the forefront. Cannot wait for this match.

Boston Uprising vs. New York Excelsior

Boston’s big chance to prove themselves. An upset here would echo for days online as NYXL is expected to be a powerhouse organized from LW Blue and other Korean rosters. How this game plays out will speak volumes for Stage 1 of the season. Boston is another very underrated team at the moment. Preseason told us a lot, but now the games count. The “show” is over and it is time for some serious competition. It truly becomes a battle for bragging rights!
