Kroenke’s Los Angeles Overwatch League Team

Kroenke’s Los Angeles Team

It is October 3rd and still one team remains in the dark, Kroenke’s Los Angeles team. The player signing window continues until the end of the month and talk among many hardcore fans and players is all about the rosters. The rosters seem to be growing everywhere but in Los Angeles’s second spot.

The team owned by Stan and Josh Kroenke has been the quietest on the radar. We could have made the argument for Shanghai, until they launched with their logo and name before anyone else. Now we truly know nothing about the second L.A. team. They have been around for weeks, but very little is out there.

Overwatch Team Skins

It should not come as a huge surprise that Overwatch Team Skins will likely be in the game for fans. This week with the announcement of the Shanghai Dragons we finally got a team logo. Next in the picture is one of our favorites, Mei sporting a Dragons logo on her uniform. As more teams are announced for different cities the idea that players can sport their favorite teams in the game through skins was a marketing move that should not surprise anyone.

What is fun is to see which characters will sport which teams. As we break this list down, it could just be that every character in the game gets a team skin? However, the first stages of skins may look something like this:

The Tactical Twelve Rankings

The Tactical Twelve Rankings

Here we are in the middle of the player signing window in Overwatch League Season One. Some teams have announced rosters some have announced players. There is no silver bullet, there is no clear horizon, we are in the fog and that is what makes this so much fun. When the top seven teams were first announced we had a power rankings list. Now that we have all twelve teams, we are going to make this a weekly feature on the site and we finally decided on our name: The Tactical Twelve Rankings.

So, with the news and the talks we have had, here is our breakdown of the league. This is purely speculative, we know that, but as we get into pre-season and season one, this list will become central to how the league shapes up.

12. Philadelphia – The only reason Philly comes in at number twelve was they have just been announced. Nothing is on the table right now with no announcements on players or staff. Simply, we have a team is all we know. The Flyers are behind it, which gives them access to a solid stadium, from there it is anyone’s guess. Comcast Spectacor is the main sponsor of the franchise and here is what the CEO said: “Comcast Spectacor is thrilled to play a central role in the Overwatch League’s inaugural season and energize the growing esports community in Philadelphia and beyond.” DAVE SCOTT, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF COMCAST

Overwatch League Broadcast

Will Overwatch League Broadcasts Take a Hint from Amazon?

Blizzard has a few important decisions to make about how they should do an Overwatch League Broadcast. Blizzard has amassed a lot of talent with DoA and MonteCristo being hired away from Riot. They also have assembled a casting crew for the Overwatch League World Cup to supplement them. That said, perhaps the most ambitious goal for the league has to do with their growth expectations. To meet those expectations they’re going to have to amass fans who are currently not watching professional Overwatch.

Collegiate Overwatch Interview With Mark Deppe – UC Irvine

While Overwatch League continues to dominate esports discussions, collegiate esports may offer Overwatch players an alternative to Blizzard’s premier league. UC Irvine made big headlines recently when they announced a new scholarship aimed at Overwatch players. This development has caught the eye of players who wish to continue their education, as well as their parents who want them to pursue their dreams. In an era where the esports industry is making significant pushes to normalize professional gaming, the role that organized collegiate gaming plays cannot be underestimated. We recently caught up with Acting Director of Esports for UC Irvine, Mark Deppe, to get his thoughts on collegiate Overwatch, and to shed some light on other aspects of the program.

Welcome to Overwatchscore.com

We are just months away from Blizzard launching their global assault on Esports. The Overwatch League is coming together and news coverage continues to grow quickly. In order to cut through the hype and corporate approach, our goal here at Overwatch Score is to bring you the news straight up.

With over a decade experience in the Video Game and Esports industry, our job is to cover the League from top to bottom. Trades, teams, players, owners, and events will be highlighted and discussed by fans for fans. We were there at the beginning when Overwatch was announced and know the game inside and out. Our talks on strategy will guide new players into how the team format will work. With top character and map analysis it will be easy to follow along as a new fan. If you are a fan of the Junk Brothers, or just want to get down and dirty as Reaper, this is the place to find all the information.

If the business of Esports dazzles you with big numbers and corporate sponsors, then we are here to bring the best stories forward. How will players be recruited or where will teams build their home grown talent? These are questions that everyone is asking in the early months before the League hosts its first season. Now more than ever, it is time to get in the ground floor of this new idea.

Following your local team is important. If you are a New Yorker, or on the other side of the globe in Seoul, it is important to get the latest news on your team and players. We will have a solid team breakdown of each city and watch as tournaments and players emerge. Right now there are seven teams on the League list: Seoul, Shangai, Miami-Orlando, New York, Boston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. We have yet to see teams join from Europe and South America.

Sponsorship and branding are going to be a major part of the League. If there is any truth to the $20 million buy in for teams, then companies are going to quickly get on board to promote their products. We’ll have a section coming to the site to make sure you know how these players and franchises will be cashing in on sponsors and building their names.

Join us for what will shape the next decade of Esports. As we journey through this League together, our desire to explore everything Esports will bring to generations forward is at the core of our mission. If you are a writer or shout caster, let us know. We are actively looking for journalists and broadcasters who have a passion for Overwatch and want to be on the front lines of League coverage.

So, sign up, be ready as the count down begins before every match. We’ll be spanning the globe with the teams and players in this inaugural season! We’ll see you at events in the New York area for sure! Join us on Overwatchscore.com for years to come!
